- Mental health issues

- Relational boundaries
- Interpersonal conflicts

- Relational and family dynamics
- Emotional intelligence and emotional regulation
- Stress management
Fiona is well versed in psychological first-aid and its core principles: an early intervention to psychological injuries. It is intended to reduce initial distress and to foster short-term and long-term adaptive functioning in the immediate aftermath of a critical or traumatic incident. Psychoeducation around critical incident stress and effective coping strategies typically brings great relief, instills a sense of hope toward recovery and fosters resilience. Fiona believes that early intervention through psychological first-aid and short-term counselling have a great potential to reduce the occurrence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Heart Care KitsĀ© or Toolboxes
Having worked with victims of crime and tragedies for many years and having been on the receiving end of aggressive or violent behaviors, Fiona is passionate about helping young and adult clients achieve personal success through emotional intelligence and emotional regulation techniques.
Psychological bruises and cuts could lead to more serious injuries, mental health complications, and relational issues if not tended to and healed effectively. Fiona employs a non-aggressive and non-violent model and assists clients to gain greater understanding and control of their emotions, thoughts and actions.
Fiona builds heart care kits or toolboxes with her young clients, using the key principles of emotional intelligence, cognitive behavioral therapy, and strength and value-based interventions. This art and project-based approach keeps young clients engaged in working through their challenges and directly involved in building their kits or toolboxes that are uniquely their own. The goal is to assist clients to gain essential knowledge and skills in the upkeep of their own mental health and wellness.
